VW air cooled 1776cc performance engine for sale. Believed to have been in a buggy or Baja but some one got water in the heads.
When I collected it, it was sceized but on taking the heads off it released and turns freely. Looks clean inside from what I can see.
As you can see there was water in the barrels and it had been alowed to sit.
It has now sat waiting for me to do something with it. I was going to strip it, clean and rebuld with new Pistons and Barrels. It’s not going to happen so I’m passing it on if some one wishes to take it on as a project.
I don’t know much about it but the bottom end looks pretty much stock from what I can see / guess.
No obvious endfloat.
it will need a full strip and rebuild to check it over. The engine has had a tube welded to the oil pick up for an extended sump – see pics
